GOOD SKIING AND STABLE CLIMATE

It’s the majestic white mountainsides of Rondane which meet you when you first arrive. Rondane is exactly how you expect it to be. A reliable and dry climate, shimmering plataux, prepared ski tracks right to your cabin door, and exciting tour options, with degrees of difficulty to suit every ability. Høvringen is the beginning of a network of marked routes, both in the forest and on the mountains. Around Høvringen there are about 80 km of prepared routes in both forest and mountain terrain. The tourist cabins in and around Rondane are open for accommodation, provisions or meals.

Many people choose to visit Høvringen during the winter. The area has a long tradition of winter tourism. Our many varied opportunities at Høvringen and in Rondane make the area very suitable for all age groups and skiing abilities. Those who desire strenous trips to the tops of peaks can do so. If you would prefer a short morning trip in the forest, there in also every oppotunity for this. Visitors come back to us year after year and meet old friends. For many people, a winter holiday in Høvringen is something that must be included in their year’s activities.

Høvringen does not have a downhill slope. Opportunities are nevertheless available for those who enjoy this activity. The distance to the nearest downhill slopes at Dombås is short (about 30 minute’s drive). There is a bus service from Høvringen.

The Mountain School arranges trips in the mountains, building snow holes, and horse-drawn sleigh tours.

Høvringen Ski school rents out skiing equipment and sleighs for drawing equipment or older babies. Basic ski teaching. The Ski-skole can also offer skiing trips with a guide and trips in Rondane with dog-drawn sleigh.

In the evening, the hotels light up the winter darkness in the village of Høvringen. Here, you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, eat traditional foods and find peace of mind in front of an open fire.

Troll tour from Rondane to Lillehammer starts at Høvringen. This is a fantastic ski trip of about 170 km in varied terrain.
